Fort Worth Christian 2028 Infielder Braylon Hubbard Commits to Oklahoma State

FORT WORTH, Texas — One of DFW’s emerging baseball prospects has made his college decision.

Fort Worth Christian infielder Braylon Hubbard, a Class of 2028 prospect, has committed to Oklahoma State, giving the Cowboys another athletic infield prospect for a future recruiting class.

Hubbard announced his commitment on social media this week, sharing an Oklahoma State-themed commitment graphic alongside Fort Worth Christian baseball and athletics.

For Hubbard, the decision connects him with a program that has remained one of the most consistent postseason teams in college baseball under head coach Josh Holliday.

Oklahoma State finished the 2026 season 39-22, reached the final of the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional and earned its 13th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance, the second-longest active streak in the country. The Cowboys finished No. 25 in the final D1Baseball poll.

AN ATHLETIC MIDDLE INFIELDER WITH POWER UPSIDE

Hubbard brings a combination of athleticism and offensive upside that makes his commitment especially intriguing.

Perfect Game lists him at approximately 6-foot, 185 pounds, with experience at shortstop, second base and on the mound. His verified showcase numbers include a 6.84-second 60-yard dash, 91 mph infield velocity and 96 mph exit velocity. Perfect Game’s most recent evaluation also highlighted his strength, athleticism and power potential while noting his ability to remain in the middle infield.

That profile fits well with the type of offense Oklahoma State has built.

The Cowboys were one of the most dangerous power-hitting teams in the country in 2026, finishing the season with 150 home runs, the second-highest total in program history and second-most nationally. Oklahoma State also ranked sixth nationally in slugging percentage at .560 and eighth in runs scored with 517.

Seven Cowboys reached double-digit home runs, led by All-American outfielder Kollin Ritchie, who hit 31 home runs while batting .326 with 75 RBIs and an .804 slugging percentage.

For a young infielder already showing both bat speed and physical development, Oklahoma State presents a program where offensive production is clearly emphasized.

JOINING A PROVEN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Hubbard will eventually enter a program led by Holliday, who has been Oklahoma State’s head coach since 2013.

Holliday earned his 500th career victory during the 2026 season and has taken Oklahoma State to the NCAA Tournament every season in which the tournament has been held during his tenure.

The current staff also includes assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Mark Ginther, assistant coach Victor Romero, pitching coach Blake Hawksworth, pitching performance and strategy coach Trey Cobb, and sports performance coach Garrett Bayliff.

The Cowboys have also shown an ability to develop high-level infielders.

Senior third baseman Aidan Meola hit .320 with 17 home runs and 69 RBIs in 2026 and earned All-Central Region First Team honors. Sophomore infielder Brock Thompson hit .284 with 11 home runs, reached base safely in 43 consecutive games and earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention recognition.

That doesn’t mean Hubbard is being asked to become one of those players immediately — he still has significant development ahead of him before reaching Stillwater — but the fit is apparent.

His athleticism gives him multiple defensive possibilities, while his current offensive measurables suggest the potential to grow into the kind of power-producing infielder Oklahoma State has repeatedly developed.

DFW TO STILLWATER

Hubbard’s commitment also gives Fort Worth Christian another recruiting storyline to follow over the next several seasons.

As a Class of 2028 prospect, he still has two full high school seasons ahead to continue developing physically, refine his defense and expand his offensive game before arriving at Oklahoma State.

And because he committed this early, his progression becomes part of the story.

What Oklahoma State is betting on is not only what Hubbard is today, but what his athletic profile could become by the time he reaches Stillwater.

For Hubbard, the commitment gives him a destination.

For DFW baseball, it gives another local prospect to follow closely.
