Five DFW Volleyball Commitments to Know in 2026

From state championships and international competition to high school record books and national club volleyball, the Dallas-Fort Worth area continues to produce players attracting college programs at every level.

For this edition of DUB Sports Media’s DFW Volleyball Commitment Spotlight, we’re highlighting five players from the Classes of 2027 and 2028: Sarah Floyd, Trynity Alsaid, Caitlin Carrizales, Nyla Livings and Audree Hughes.

Their commitments range from Texas and LSU to Cal, North Texas and Providence, but the bigger story is what each has already accomplished on the way there.

Sarah Floyd — Highland Park | Opposite/Right Side | 2028 | Texas

Few players on this list have already accumulated a résumé quite like Sarah Floyd.

The 6-foot-3 Highland Park opposite helped lead the Scots to the 2025 UIL Class 5A Division I state championship, the first volleyball state title in school history. Floyd led Highland Park with 380 kills in 117 sets, while also recording 211 digs, 72 blocks and 62 aces. In the state championship match against A&M Consolidated, she delivered a match-high 14 kills and was named the final’s MVP.

Her success hasn't stopped at the Texas border. USA Volleyball selected Floyd to the 2026 U.S. Women's U19 National Team as an opposite, and she helped the United States win gold at the NORCECA U19 Continental Championship.

Floyd has committed to Texas, adding another DFW prospect to one of college volleyball's most recognizable programs. Her combination of size, production and experience on championship stages makes her one of the area's most accomplished players in the 2028 class.

Trynity Alsaid — North Forney | Setter | 2028 | North Texas

Trynity Alsaid has emerged as one of DFW's productive young setters while helping direct the North Forney offense.

Through the Dallas-area statistical update published September 9, Alsaid had accumulated 616 assists across 66 sets — 9.3 assists per set. That placed her third among the Dallas-area assist leaders listed in the report.

Her offensive versatility showed up before North Forney as well. During her time at Mesquite Poteet, Alsaid's MaxPreps profile listed a résumé that included 524 assists, 402 kills, 137 aces and 418 digs, illustrating a setter capable of affecting matches beyond simply distributing the ball.

The Class of 2028 setter has now committed to North Texas, keeping one of DFW's developing setters close to home.

Caitlin Carrizales — Nolan Catholic | Libero/DS | 2028 | Cal

While hitters often collect the biggest numbers, Caitlin Carrizales has built her résumé on the other side of the ball.

The Nolan Catholic libero and defensive specialist was a 2025 TAPPS 6A First-Team All-State selection, First-Team All-District selection and member of the TAPPS 6A State All-Tournament Team. Her club résumé also includes surpassing 500 career digs, earning USAV 15 Open All-Tournament recognition and being named a 15U First-Team Club All-American by PrepVolleyball.

Her high-school production backs up the accolades. Carrizales recorded 228 digs in 49 sets during the 2025 season — 4.7 digs per set — along with 254 serve receptions. In one three-set victory over Greenhill, she finished with 23 digs.

Carrizales has committed to California, giving the Golden Bears a Class of 2028 defender who has already produced at both the high-school and national club levels.

Nyla Livings — Prestonwood Christian | Middle Blocker | 2027 | LSU

Nyla Livings has taken her game from Plano to the international stage.

The 6-foot-2 Prestonwood Christian middle blocker is committed to LSU, alongside her twin sister Naomi “Mimi” Livings.

Her 2026 season has reinforced why she's one of the area's notable front-row players. Current statistics list Livings at 3.8 kills per set with a .460 hitting percentage. In Prestonwood's sweep of Liberty Christian, she recorded 12 kills, and earlier this season she produced 23 kills while hitting .719 against Eagle Mountain.

Livings also spent part of her summer representing the United States. USA Volleyball selected her for the 2026 U23 NORCECA roster, and she helped Team USA capture gold at the U23 Pan American Cup in Nicaragua. Against Costa Rica, Livings produced 16 points on 10 kills, four blocks and two aces.

The LSU commitment gives Livings an SEC destination, but her résumé already includes high-level production in high school, club volleyball and international competition.

Audree Hughes — Southlake Carroll | Outside Hitter | 2027 | Providence

For Audree Hughes, one of the defining moments of her high-school career came on the biggest stage in Texas.

The 6-foot outside hitter helped Southlake Carroll capture the 2025 UIL Class 6A Division II state championship, the first volleyball state title in program history. Hughes produced 15 kills in the championship match and was the only non-senior from Carroll selected to the UIL State All-Tournament Team.

Across the 2025 season, Hughes recorded 218 kills over 118 sets, along with 77 digs and 17 total blocks.

Her journey has taken a different turn in 2026. Hughes suffered a torn ACL during the spring, putting her senior season in jeopardy as Southlake Carroll began its state-title defense.

Her college destination, however, is already established. Hughes is committed to Providence College.

For Hughes, that makes this chapter about more than a commitment. She has already experienced a state championship, produced on the biggest high-school stage in Texas and now faces the process of working back from injury before the next stage of her career.

DFW Volleyball's Pipeline Continues

These five athletes don't play the same position, attend the same type of school or follow identical paths.

Floyd has already won at the state and international levels. Alsaid is directing one of the area's offenses from the setter position. Carrizales has established herself as a high-level back-row defender. Livings has taken her game from Prestonwood Christian to Team USA. Hughes has a state championship on her résumé while navigating the challenge of returning from injury.

What connects them is the next step.

Texas. North Texas. Cal. LSU. Providence.

Five DFW athletes, five different college destinations and five more examples of the volleyball talent being developed throughout North Texas.

And with the 2026 high school season still underway, their stories aren't finished yet.
