DFW 6A District Finish Projections

Three weeks of non-district football have given us our first real look at the 2026 DFW 6A field.

Records tell part of the story, but they don’t tell all of it. Some teams tested themselves against state-level competition. Others took care of favorable schedules. More importantly, we’ve had a chance to see personnel, quarterback play, offensive and defensive fronts, team speed, scheme and how certain teams match up heading into district play.

Now the games that determine playoff spots begin.

DUB Sports Media is projecting the top four finishers in each DFW 6A district from District 3-6A through District 11-6A. These aren’t current standings or preseason rankings. This is where we believe each district race finishes based on what we’ve seen entering district play.

The top four teams from each district advance to the UIL playoffs.

District 3-6A

  1. 1

    Arlington Martin

  2. 2

    Arlington Sam Houston

  3. 3

    Weatherford

  4. 4

    Arlington

Martin and Sam Houston both enter district play unbeaten, while Weatherford and Arlington have each shown enough through non-district competition to earn a spot in our projected playoff field. This could become one of the more interesting DFW districts if the early results carry over.

District 4-6A

  1. 1

    Keller

  2. 2

    Southlake Carroll

  3. 3

    Keller Central

  4. 4

    Byron Nelson

We’re going against the traditional order at the top and projecting Keller to win 4-6A. Southlake Carroll remains one of the most dangerous teams in the district, while undefeated Keller Central has earned its place in the conversation. Byron Nelson rounds out our playoff four.

District 5-6A

  1. 1

    Lewisville

  2. 2

    Denton Guyer

  3. 3

    Little Elm

  4. 4

    Frisco Wakeland

This is one of the deepest districts in DFW. Lewisville has the personnel and explosiveness to take the district, while Guyer remains a major threat. Little Elm has continued to show it belongs in that conversation, and we’re taking Wakeland as our fourth playoff team in a race that should have several teams fighting for that final spot.

District 6-6A

  1. 1

    Allen

  2. 2

    Prosper

  3. 3

    Prosper Walnut Grove

  4. 4

    Prosper Rock Hill

Allen enters district play as our clear favorite, but Prosper gives 6-6A another legitimate heavyweight at the top. Walnut Grove has handled its non-district schedule, while Rock Hill gets our final playoff spot heading into district play.

District 7-6A

  1. 1

    Coppell

  2. 2

    Richardson

  3. 3

    Plano East

  4. 4

    Lake Highlands

Coppell gets our nod to win the district, but Richardson’s defense makes the Eagles a team we believe can stay in the race. Plano East takes the third spot, while Lake Highlands’ defensive ability gives the Wildcats our final playoff position.

District 8-6A

  1. 1

    Euless Trinity

  2. 2

    South Grand Prairie

  3. 3

    Grand Prairie

  4. 4

    Irving MacArthur

We’re still giving Trinity the edge when district play begins despite a difficult non-district stretch. South Grand Prairie follows at No. 2, with Grand Prairie third. MacArthur takes our final playoff spot and could become one of the more interesting teams to watch in 8-6A.

District 9-6A

  1. 1

    Wylie

  2. 2

    Sachse

  3. 3

    Wylie East

  4. 4

    Rowlett

Wylie and Sachse enter district play unbeaten and headline our projection in 9-6A. Wylie East takes the third spot, while we’re projecting Rowlett to grab the fourth and final playoff position.

District 10-6A

  1. 1

    Longview

  2. 2

    North Forney

  3. 3

    Rockwall

  4. 4

    Rockwall-Heath

Don’t let North Forney’s non-district record tell the entire story. The Falcons faced quality competition and remain one of our projected playoff teams. Longview gets our pick to win the district, with Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath completing a playoff field that could change quickly once these teams start playing each other.

District 11-6A

  1. 1

    Waxahachie

  2. 2

    North Crowley

  3. 3

    Duncanville

  4. 4

    Mansfield Lake Ridge

There may not be a tougher top three in DFW. We’re projecting Waxahachie to finish first, followed closely by North Crowley. Duncanville’s difficult non-district schedule doesn’t change the amount of talent on its roster, and the Panthers remain firmly in our playoff projection.

The biggest question may be fourth place. Mansfield Lake Ridge gets the spot entering district play, but Red Oak and Mansfield should make that race worth watching.
